Welcome to the first of our 'What to Collect' series of blogs where we feature collectible sets from our store, or our own recommendations.

First off, BLIND BOXES!

This phenomena kicked off in the UK in the early 2000s with the rise in popularity of Japanese culture during that time. This popularity grew in the 2010s, and in 2019 and 2022 respectively, UK saw its first Miniso and Pop Mart stores open. These brands now have stores all over the UK. We wager that many of you were like us; reeled in by the plethora of bright and colourful boxes that housed beautifully crafted mystery figures (who'd heard of chasers before this??).

If we looked into why blind boxes and mystery bags have become so popular, that'd end up being a book, so for now, we'll just do the more fun thing of suggesting blind boxes to you.

There are an absolute plethora of different types of blind boxes and mystery bags out there and it can be a minefield to know where to start. Sometimes it's easier to start with collecting blind boxes from your favourite character/brand first.

At Set To Collect, besides the already well-known, we want to bring in as many different types of Japanese blind boxes from popular Anime characters to those less familiar; all with the common feature of being wonderfully unique in creation and design.

DISNEY now has a very imaginative range of blind box series which make the experience of opening each series unique in itself.
